Baby's 1st Valentine's Day Crafts

Baby’s 1st Valentine’s Day Crafts

This year is our baby’s first Valentine’s Day. We would like to share our Valentine’s Day crafts ideas to make this Valentine’s Day special.

Lizzy, our four-month-old daughter, absolutely loves playing with paint. We chose these two painting activities, as one is an easier cleanup and the other is a cute keepsake with painting hearts with her feet. At this point, we are unable to get a print of her hand due to her closing her hand when we place it in paint. Hopefully by Mother’s Day we are able to paint handprints as well. We hope you enjoy these Valentine’s Day crafts.

Let baby smash and rub the colors together. This Valentine’s Day craft is a great sensory activity.

Once finished, take the paper heart out of the bag and set aside to dry. Add a message inside and send to a valentine!

I love you from my head to my toes Valentine’s Day craft

Valentine's Day crafts supplies

Supplies:

  • Paper (5″x7″ shown in picture)
  • Paint
  • Paper plate
  • Baby wipes or wet washcloth

Instructions:

Pour paint into a paper plate. Dip your baby’s foot into the paint, then place foot onto the piece of paper.

Make sure to have either baby wipes or a wet washcloth handy. I used a non-toxic, washable paint that would be safe on my baby’s skin and allow for easy cleanup. Let the heart footprints dry then add your special message.

Some heart footprints are going to turn out better than others. As a perfectionist, I like for things to turn out just so. What matters is your baby is having fun doing this sensory activity and you both have this keepsake of his or her first Valentine’s Day.

Pro Tip:

These baby’s 1st Valentine’s Day crafts are easier and less messy with two sets of hands. However, we found that these crafts worked well when my daughter was in her baby activity center, especially for the “I Love You from my Head to my Toes Valentine’s Day Craft.”
